"Funniest thing happened to me in Springfield. Wish I could remember what it was."
Has anyone seen Night at the museum 2, and have it in fresh memory? I'm trying to remember a quote from it, where Larry tells one of the monkeys that the difference between him and the monkey is that he has opposable thumbs (which is wrong). I 'm also trying to remember which monkey he says it to.

I went out to a New Year's Party and didn't get home until almost five in the morning. No New Year's makeouts, but I did have an interesting conversation about time traveling stalkers, so I consider the night to be a win.

In an effort to rein in my spending and prep for another attempt at moving out, I've used excel to create two spreadsheets. One for recording my tips, and the second for tracking monthly income and expenses. By summer time, I should have some idea what I could afford based on my current job at the entertainment venue. I already know the answer will be that I can't move out on it, but I will have some kind of framework with which to base further plans on.

Does that make sense to anyone else?

A lot hinges on my degree and when I get it. It no longer looks like I will be able to graduate in the summer, but then that was the most optimistic plan. Another thought is that I should take some video editing courses and open up another avenue of income for myself.

So many variables. I hate variables.

    Quick! Spot the Typo!

    Today's XKCD. I admit it. I laughed.

There's a bar station on the "club level" at work. The bartender at that station makes drinks for the runners to take to people at the rinkside seats. That's where I was Monday Night.

It was fun. A lot of fun. Really, my only complaint was the lack of room to work with and that I had to wear the full uniform with vest and tie even though I was in the back and not dealing with customers. I would love to be there permanently, but my schedule has me on the concourse level for all of January. Damnit.

Toward the end of the night, one of the runners observed that he'd seen other bartenders freak out over the demands, or fold, or otherwise not handle it. Not me. Apparently, I remained, and I qoute; "As cool as the other side of the pillow."

    I'm still laughing.

No customers. no cash handling, the runners were all awesome people, man, make it my permanent station and I'd be a happy, happy camper.

Hmmm...you, me, alone for twenty-four hours...what could possibly go wrong?
If you had me alone, locked up in your house for twenty-four hours and I had to do whatever you wanted me to, what would you have me do?

    This Will End In Fire
    WHEEEE! Anthropological Studies!!

Or not. From the About Page: The purpose of this blog is an honest, no holds barred discussion about white people. I am an agnostic and have been studying white people for decades. This blog does not endorse any concept of racial superiority of any “chosen” people. Violence against any group of people based on their race, gender, religion and creed is abhorrent, and unacceptable. While some white people are gentle and enlightened souls, most unfortunately are not.
Contrary to popular imagination, the vast majority of terrorists in the world are white males. The most destructive wars in history were(and are still) waged by whites, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of millions. The most destructive weapons are made by whites. Pornography is manufactured exclusively by whites. They are slowly but surely destroying the environment. Whites are more likely to be sexual predators, child molesters, rapists, stalkers and mass murderers. Why? The problem lies in their own nihilistic belief of racial superiority and the lack of a real sustainable culture based on higher principles of tolerance and respect.
The white race must be pacified and civilized for the betterment of the planet. This will become a reality as enlightened whites shed their racist heritage and rejoin the human race as equals.

Can we say "thinly veiled racisim", boys and girls? Good!

Because this is what friendship is about.
So I'm sitting here eating dinner and my cell phone goes off. The ringtone tells me its [info]gottaspiffy and I answer, wondering why he'd be calling.

He and [info]spiffy_gal were at their favorite taco joint and he was very upset. A friend of his had been killed in a car accident and he was trying to distract himself.

My brain kicks into high gear and I say a silent "thank god" that I had my first day at the Sports Venue on Saturday and had been assigned to the main level so I'd made quite a bit in tips. I listen to him tell me what happened as I check movie listings and then tell him to come over.

I hang up, call [info]jkmoreno, and tell him what happend and what I have in mind. He's in.

We went and saw Sherlock Holmes at the century. My opinion on Century Theatres is fairly low, but this one was in a mall with a Borders books and [info]gottaspiffy had a gift card. Since it was his night, we went.

The theater was packed, so we wound up in the second row staring up at the movie screen. Not my favorite way to watch a movie.

I defintly want the soundtrack and the movie on DVD. It's that good. Go see it.

After the movie, we went back to his place and sat for a bit before [info]jkmoreno gave me a lift home.

This is what friendship is and I'm glad I didn't even think twice about it. I can remember a time when I would have and I'm glad that time is well behind me.

    Your bros always come first.

    Happy Feast of Stephen!
    Good King Wenceslas looked out
    On the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
    Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
    Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
    Gath'ring winter fuel

"Hither, page, and stand by me
    If thou know'st it, telling
    Yonder peasant, who is he?
    Where and what his dwelling?"
"Sire, he lives a good league hence
    Underneath the mountain
    Right against the forest fence
    By Saint Agnes' fountain."

"Bring me flesh and bring me wine
    Bring me pine logs hither
Thou and I will see him dine
    When we bear him thither."
Page and monarch forth they went
    Forth they went together
Through the rude wind's wild lament
    And the bitter weather

"Sire, the night is darker now
    And the wind blows stronger
Fails my heart, I know not how,
    I can go no longer."
"Mark my footsteps, my good page
    Tread thou in them boldly
Thou shalt find the winter's rage
    Freeze thy blood less coldly."

In his master's steps he trod
    Where the snow lay dinted
Heat was in the very sod
    Which the Saint had printed
    Therefore, Christian men, be sure
    Wealth or rank possessing
Ye who now will bless the poor
    Shall yourselves find blessing
